Krista’s second word

Krista has been on the verge of talking for a while now. Over the last few months we can tell that she’s really trying to express herself because she’ll look at us so intently, point and gesture excitedly, and try to say something, but it’s just a bunch of babble. In the last couple days, however she came out with her second word.  The first one was Mama.  The second one… nope, not Dada; I still fall under the “Mama” category, which is what she calls both Karis and I.  No, her new word, as you’ll hear many times in the video below, is “Dowa” – as in Dora the Explorer. (In the words of the old Verizon commercial, “Dad got hosed!”  Oh well…)

    Dan,
That video is so cute! How funny that her 2nd word is Dora!!!! I believe that she has probably seen that on T.V. a few times (especially having Kayla as her sister!) I love it when you put up videos!!! Keep them coming (when you have time!)

Guess Krista knows the important things in life: Mama and Dora. Keep your chin up, Dan. You’ll be #3 for sure. Thanks for allowing us to see Krista’s progress in growing up to be a big girl. Hope she can say “Grammy” by the time December rolls around. :-)

    Love to you all,
    Mom

    Dan,

Thanks for the video. Krista is so cute! Didn’t Kayla call you Mama when she first started talking too? Hope all is well for you. By the way, did you know UConn is in the Final Four? Thought you might be proud of your team.

    Love,
    James

Too funny! Mama and Dora….definitely two of the most important things in life! But don’t feel bad – Dada will come! My daughter called both me and Nathan “dada” until she was about 18 months old.
